22 Palestinians, including four women and three children were killed by the IDF in Gaza and the West Bank. 117 Palestinians were wounded by IDF gunfire. 33 military incursions were conducted in the West Bank, plus another four in Gaza. 93 Palestinians including 14 children were arrested.
In the morning of January 3, the IDF also invaded Nablus and surrounding refugee camps. During the three-day invasion of the city, the IDF imposed a curfew, invaded several homes and set fire to a two-storey building in the old city. They also besieged a hospital and arrested a paramedic. Troops also stopped a Red Crescent ambulance at a checkpoint near Nablus and fired a tear gas canister into it. When residents demonstrated against the military operation, the soldiers fired rubber-coated bullets at them, wounding 38. (PCHR)
The IDF demolished two houses in Gaza and razed 259 dunams of agricultural land in the West Bank. The Israeli Ministry of Housing authorized the construction of 1,000 new housing units in Abu Ghunaim, East Jerusalem.
The IDF has continued to prevent Palestinians under the age of 35 from passing through checkpoints in Tulkarm. The Israeli military also maintained its closure of Gaza's Beit Hanoun (Erez) Crossing, but allowed 144 Gazans in need of medical assistance to enter Israel.
Israeli settlers continued their attempts to establish a new outpost in Kiryat Arba. They erected tents, shut down surrounding roads, and attacked a number of Palestinian children.
The IDF fired a missile towards Beit Hanoun, Gaza, from which a number of Qassems had been fired at Israeli villages. The Israeli missile landed on a civilian farm, killing two and wounding four. (PCHR)
A twenty-two year old Palestinian shepherd was killed in the Jordan Valley when he stepped on an Israeli landmine, January 6.
On January 7 The IDF raided houses in a number of West Bank communities including, Nablus, Balata, Jenin, and surrounding areas. IDF troops also spotted an 18-year-old boy carrying a homemade gun outside of Jenin and shot him dead.
The IDF shut down a number of roads surrounding Hebron. A Palestinian woman was forced to give birth at one of the checkpoints.
