Weekly Report - January 22

23 Palestinians were killed and 70 were wounded by IDF operations the Gaza Strip. Three Palestinians were killed in the West Bank, and 18 were wounded, six of whom were attacked by Israeli settlers in Hebron. These deaths included two women and two children.

Three Israelis were injured by Qassam rockets.

Israeli settlers cut down at least 43 Palestinian trees in the Nablus Governorate. Settlers there also erected 20 portables on privately owned Palestinian land.

Israeli authorities evicted five Bedouin families (30 people) from the Al Jib, East Jerusalem, and ordered them to dismantle their tents. IDF soldiers also damaged a house in Tulkarm during a military operation there. The structure was subsequently uninhabitable, and the five people living there were displaced.

On January 16, an IAF jet fighter fired a missile towards a car said to be carrying militants of the Al Quds Brigades in Gaza City. The missile missed and hit a nearby civilian car, killing three.

The IDF restricted civil and commercial life in Hebron, disallowing shops from opening, imposing a curfew, and erecting a number of checkpoints in and around the city. Restrictions on the movement of Palestinians were also made more stringent around Nablus and Tulkarm.

A total of 40 curfew hours were reported in the West Bank. During military operations following clashes with children throwing stones in Huwwara (Nablus,) and Bab al Zawiya (Hebron) residents were told to stay indoors for up to 8 hours.

During the week, 55 flying checkpoints were erected in the West Bank. The IDF arrested 144 Palestinians and conducted 100 raids of Palestinian houses.
