25 Palestinians, including one child, were killed by Israeli forces, all in the Gaza Strip.* 56 Palestinians in total were injured, with ten in the West Bank, and one Ecuadorian national was killed by Palestinian gunfire near the Gaza border. Six Israelis were injured by Qassem rockets in Sderot.
The IDF made an incursion to the east of Gaza city, killing 17 Palestinians, including 5 non-combatants, and wounding another 30. Investigations revealed that most of the victims were killed by tank shells.
On January 9th, IDF entered Beit Ula, in the Hebron Governorate, and destroyed six water cisterns and issued demolition orders against an additional nine. They also uprooted 3,200 trees (80 dunams) because of their proximity to the Wall. In Nablus, the IDF set fire to four stores in the old city during a search and arrest operation.
OCHA reported a total of 56 curfew hours, 53 flying checkpoints and 81 search operations. 58 arrests were made. Construction of a new settlement consisting of 66 housing units began in East Jerusalem's Ras al-'Amoud neighborhood.
*Please note that there is a one-day overlap between this report and the previous one. Two Palestinians, including one woman, were killed on January 9th.
